Mitochondria and Peroxisomes, integral metabolic organelles, play crucial roles in numerous aspects of our daily existence. The diminished function or dysfunction of these organelles is linked to a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations and is associated with the aging process.

Our primary focus is to unravel the mechanisms through which organelles, with a specific emphasis on mitochondria and peroxisomes, establish communication with the broader cell. We aim to understand how cells perceive the condition of these organelles and how they respond when irregularities are detected. Our research is predominantly conducted in the nematode C. elegans and in mammalian cell cultures.
